装扮芭比娃娃

Mom: Grandma prepared lots of cute outfits for your Barbie.

妈妈：奶奶为你的芭比娃娃**了很多身儿漂亮的衣服。

Cute既有可爱，又有漂亮的意思，这里指漂亮。

Why don't we try them out on her?

咱们给她穿上试试吧。

Child: Okay!

宝宝：好的！

☀ Dressing Up for a Night Out

精心打扮晚上出去

Mom: Let's put on this tiara, dress, jacket, and pair of shoes.

妈妈：我们给她戴上皇冠，穿上裙子、外套和这双鞋。

It looks like that outfit we saw in the magazine yesterday.

它看起来很像我们昨天在**上看到的套装。

Child: It does!

宝宝：是的！

Mom: First, put her arms through the armholes

妈妈：首先，把她的胳膊伸到袖子里，

英语口语中会用到armhole这个词，但是在中文口语中，没有对应的词。

and through the sleeves.

然后从袖子里伸出来。

Great, make sure to do the buttons on the back of the dress.

很好，一定要把裙子后面的扣子扣上。

Child: It fits just right!

宝宝：它很合身！

Mom: It does – it's very flattering on her.

妈妈：是的，它让她更漂亮了。

Child: Here's her jacket.

宝宝：这是她的外套。

We don't want her to catch a cold on her night out.

我们别让她晚上出去的时候感冒了。

Mom: Yeah, we definitely want her to stay warm.

妈妈：嗯，我们当然希望她暖暖活活的。

It makes her look glamourous.

这让她看起来很迷人。

There's a little button we need to button at the front.

前面有一个小扣子，我们需要扣一下。

Child: Okay.

宝宝：好的。

Now her shoes.

现在该穿鞋了。

Look, Mom, she has some boots.

看，妈妈，她还有靴子呢。

They look like yours.

看起来很像你的那双。

Mom: Yup! They do.

妈妈：嗯！是的。

Just slip her boots onto her feet.

把靴子套在她脚上。

What hairstyle should we give Barbie?

我们要给芭比梳什么发型呢？

Should we do her hair up in a bun

我们给她盘个丸子头，

or leave her hair down?

还是梳披肩发？

Child: I like her hair down!

宝宝：我喜欢披肩发！

She looks pretty this way!

她这样看起来很漂亮！

Mom: Don't forget to put her tiara on.

妈妈：别忘了给她戴上皇冠。

Tiara是crown的一种，它通常比较小，而且不是一整圈的。

She will look like a princess in it.

戴上以后她就像公主了。

So, what is she doing after getting all dressed up?

那么，她打扮好之后要去做什么呢？

Child: She's going to a concert.

宝宝：她要去听音乐会。

Mom: I'm so jealous!

妈妈：我好羡慕哦！

Barbie is going to have a great night.

芭比会有一个很美好的夜晚。

☀ Activewear 运动服饰

Child: Let's put on her gym outfit now.

宝宝：现在咱们给她穿上健身套装吧。

Mom: Yes, she can go running or lift weights at the gym.

妈妈：好的，她可以去健身房跑步或者举铁。

Child: I want to take off her evening gown.

宝宝：我要帮她把晚礼服脱了。

Mom: Okay.

妈妈：好的。

Now just slip this gym shirt over her head.

现在把这件健身衣从她头上套过去吧。

Child: And here are her gym pants.

宝宝：然后是她的健身裤。

They have an elastic waist band.

裤子有松紧带。

Mom: You're right.

妈妈：你说对了。

I'll put her sneakers on.

我来帮她把运动鞋穿上。

What hairstyle should we give Barbie when she goes to the gym?

芭比去健身房的时候我们给她梳什么发型呢？

Maybe do up her hair in a ponytail?

要不然给她扎个马尾？

Child: Sure.

宝宝：好的。

Mom: There's one more thing that Barbie needs before she starts exercising -

开始锻炼之前芭比还需要一样东西，

a fitness tracker!

一个运动手环！

Child: Okay, I'll help her put it on.

宝宝：好的，我帮她戴上。

Mom: Do you know what else she will bring to the gym?

妈妈：你知道她还要带些什么去健身房吗？

She wants to bring dumbbells, a water bottle, protein bar, duffel bag, hula hoop and a yoga mat.

她要带哑铃，水瓶，蛋白棒，健身包，呼啦圈和一个瑜伽垫。

Child: All set!

宝宝：都**好了！

Let's take a picture

咱们拍张照片，
