表示原因的从句或短语

在英语中往往有一些词来引导出因果关系（cause and effect）.

我们可以用As， because, so, since等表示原因：

1.As it was getting late, I decided I should go home.

2. We must be near the beach, because I can hear the waves.

3. My mother's arrived, so I won't be Shanghai to meet you on Thursday. 4. Since he was going to be living in Sweden for some time, he thought he should read something about the country.

以上句子中的because表示因果最直接，其次是as, since表示原因比较淡化，so直接引导结果。

其次还可以用词组 Because of, due to, owing to，as a result of, thanks to来表达原因：

We won't be able to come because of the bad weather.She was unable to run due to a leg injury.We have less money to spend owing to budget cuts.The match was cancelled as a result of bad weather.

For 有 because of 的含义 ， with 有 because there is/are的含义

1. She was looking all better for her stay in hospital.

2.With so many people ill, I've decided to cancel the meeting.

还有用That’s (the reason)why来表达原因：

My car's broken, that's the reason why I came walking I didn’t know she was your sister, that’s why I didn't talk to her

另外用reason做名词可以表达原因。 例如：

Galileo postulated air resistance as the reason that objects with less mass may fall slower in an atmosphere.

此外还可以用therefore, consequently, hence来表示因果,都有“因此，因而”的含义。
